Devotional Gatherings – Prayers

“The core of religious faith is that mystic feeling which unites man with God.  This state of spiritual communion can be brought about and maintained by means of meditation and prayer.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            – Bahá’í Writings

Recognizing our spiritual reality and developing spiritual qualities is a foundation for our happiness and fulfilment as human beings.

Love and respect for others, founded on an awareness of our essential oneness, provides a basis for harmony, peace and prosperity in society.

In an atmosphere of love for humanity, Bahá’í devotional gatherings provide an opportunity for the sharing of prayers, inspirational readings and meditation to help awaken the ideal of true unity and enable us to fulfil our spiritual potential.

The Bahá’í Faith recognizes that all of the world’s great religions emanate from the same Divine source and share common essential values. Bahá’í devotional gatherings provide an opportunity to pray and meditate together in an atmosphere of tranquillity and with respect for diverse beliefs.

The Power of Prayer

Prayer and meditation are important practices for cultivating spirituality and nourishing the soul.  In prayer, we turn to God to receive His blessings, and strengthen the bonds of love connecting us with our Creator.  In quieting our minds, we open ourselves to inner illumination and spiritual feelings.

Meeting with others in prayer and meditation can help us to increase our spiritual capacities and strengths, deepen our sense of connection with one another, and experience greater equanimity and purpose in our lives.

Refresh the spirit

Take time to quiet your mind and reconnect with your spirit.  Devotional meetings provide an opportunity to draw inspiration, uplift your inner being and reflect on your spiritual path in life.
